Fernando Riveros Mckay Aguilera

PhD student @ Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Cambridge

Fernando is a fourth-year PhD student at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, Cambridge. His research focuses on using large-scale genetic datasets to further understand the genetic aetiology of cardiometabolic traits. More specifically, he has contrasted the genetic architecture of clinically ascertained healthy and thin individuals with that of children with severe early-onset obesity in an effort to gain novel insights into human energy homeostasis. He has also explored the role of rare variation in circulating metabolite levels and their impact on cardiovascular disease risk.
