Charles is a third-year PhD Student in the Epigenetics of Complex Diseases at the UCL Cancer Institute, under the supervision of Prof. Stephan Beck and Prof. Nicholas Luscombe. His research involves the integration of different layers of epigenetic data to identify cell types underlying complex disease and the implementation of 4C-seq to uncover the function of candidate disease variants. He completed a secondment with Prof. Ewan Birney at the European Bioinformatics Institute, developing the eFORGE software tool. For his PhD Charles was awarded a Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher fellowship by the European Commission as part of the Initial Training Network EpiTrain.
