Max is investigating the genetics and somatic evolution of two contagious cancers in Tasmanian devils, world’s largest marsupial carnivores.

Supervised by Dr. Elizabeth Murchison at the Cambridge Department of Veterinary Medicine, Max works on cancer and reference genome assemblies, mutation analyses and phylogenetics of transmissible tumours across large distances in spacetime.
